Introducing WF Radium in collaboration with Oliver Weiss of Walden Font Co.
WF Radium is a German Jugendstil Art Nouveau font which Oliver revived from extinct originals created in 1905 by the Schelter & Giesecke foundry in Leipzig, Germany.
Samples of the original typeface can be found in the product photos. This variant is the negative, reversed-contrast-style revival of the original font. There is also a positive variant available now available in wood type!
This face is part of Walden Font Co.’s Art Nouveau Print Shop Vol.1, WF Radium was meticulously researched, redrawn, and expanded for modern use.
Materials
End grain beech hardwood finely sanded to type height. Each block is finished with shellac and polished with fine steel wool for a smooth print surface.

Default type height is 23.32mm / 0.918” with a tolerance of 0.05mm along the end grain and relief depth of 2.5mm.
